PhysioCase
The data controller for this website is The PhysioCase Team, reachable at physiocase.org@gmail.com
PhysioCase is a free educational game designed for physiotherapists and healthcare students. We are committed to protecting your privacy and processing the minimum amount of data required to operate the service.
When you complete a game session and have given your consent, the following information is sent to our database:
We do not collect your name, email address, IP address, device fingerprint, or any other personally identifiable information (PII). The data is anonymous and aggregate by design. It is used to display community statistics (daily average score) within the game and to improve future content.
Your personal game state — daily progress, statistics, preferences, and consent choice —
is stored exclusively on your device using localStorage.
This data never leaves your browser unless you choose to submit it (see §2.1 above).
It is not accessible to us or to any third party.
| Processing activity | Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|
| Storing game progress locally on your device | Art. 6(1)(b) — necessary to provide the service you requested |
| Collecting anonymous game statistics in our database | Art. 6(1)(a) — your explicit consent via the “Accept & Play” button |
| Amazon affiliate link disclosure | Art. 6(1)(f) — legitimate interest in transparency; no data is transferred unless you click |
PhysioCase uses localStorage (not HTTP cookies) for all first-party storage.
localStorage is browser storage that operates similarly to cookies but
is not transmitted with HTTP requests.

Anonymous game statistics are stored in a database hosted by Supabase Inc. (infrastructure on AWS, EU West region). Supabase processes data as a data processor on our behalf under a Data Processing Agreement. Data transferred is anonymous and contains no PII. For more information, see the Supabase Privacy Policy.
This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser fetches a font file, Google’s servers receive your IP address and browser information as part of the standard HTTP request. Google Fonts does not set tracking cookies. See Google Fonts & Privacy FAQ.
After you complete a game, PhysioCase may display links to books on Amazon.it as part of the Amazon Associates Programme (tag: physiocase-21). These links are clearly labelled as affiliate links.
Amazon cookies are only set if you actively click a link. By clicking, you are redirected to Amazon’s website, where Amazon’s own privacy policy and cookie practices apply. We receive a small commission if you make a qualifying purchase. No Amazon data is shared with us beyond aggregate commission reporting. See the Amazon Privacy Notice.
On your first visit you are presented with a cookie consent banner. Choosing “Accept & Play” allows anonymous game statistics to be sent to our database. Choosing “Decline” lets you play the full game without any data being sent; only essential local storage is used.
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by clearing the
physiocase_consent key from your browser’s local storage:
physiocase_consentphysiocase_consentAfter clearing the key, the consent banner will reappear on your next visit.
Anonymous game records stored in our database are retained for a maximum of 24 months from the date of submission, after which they are permanently deleted. Aggregated statistics (daily totals, averages) may be retained indefinitely in anonymised form.
Local storage data on your device is retained until you clear it via your browser settings.
As the data we collect is anonymous and cannot be linked back to you, most GDPR individual rights (access, rectification, erasure) are not technically applicable, as there is no way for us to identify “your” records.
Notwithstanding the above, you retain the following rights:
For any privacy-related inquiry, contact us at physiocase.org@gmail.com
PhysioCase is intended for adults and healthcare students aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has submitted data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of PhysioCase after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
